ImerjaMail utilises proven commercial and Open Source software to remove unwanted or dangerous email content before it can threaten your systems and repuation

ImerjaMail consists of two parts; Email Processing and Reporting/Administration. Both are hosted on High Availability Servers connected in resilient clusters at multiple geographically diverse data centres, thereby ensuring maximum service availability around the clock.

Email Processing Servers validate emails being sent to and received from a subscribing customer’s email server. A comprehensive validation process employs proven, reliable, dynamic and complimentary sets of software from both commercial and Open Source resources. In utilising multiple best of breed components we can ensure that all email is subjected to the widest and most extensive databases and checks available, thereby ensuring consistent protection against the maximum number of currently known threats, attack vectors, spam types and sources.

Emails are checked against various criteria and given a spam score. Emails with a high score are automatically deleted; those with a low score are put into a secure quarantine. The Administrator can alter the thresholds at which suspected spam is deleted or quarantined.

Emails sent from your domain are checked for spam in case your system has been comprised and you are being used as a spam relay; if this occurs not only will your systems and Internet Bandwidth be exhausted, but your email address is likely to be added to spam “Black Lists”, thereby potentially causing your legitimate emails to be blocked by recipients’ anti spam systems.

The end result of this process is that email delivered to you and sent by you is legitimate and safe, and the traffic using your Internet Bandwidth and hitting your servers is massively reduced (current estimates suggest that in excess of 80% of all email traffic is unwanted spam, and this percentage is growing daily).

Reporting/Administration Servers provide the subscriber with service information and control. During the signup progress an Administrator account is created on the ImerjaMail website. The Administrator can log in using their user name and password and then make configuration changes to the default domain settings. The Administrator can also generate reports and release quarantined emails.

For each email account within a domain that has been sent any emails classified as spam a daily email notification is sent listing all messages blocked and quarantined for any reason. Provided the email content is safe (i.e. does not contain a virus or malware) the mailbox user may request messages be released from quarantine by selecting a tick box for each item. Any emails that have been identified as having dangerous content are not offered for release, merely for information. Subscriber Administrators can access the system to define policy for their organisation, and receive summary emails of the processing and quarantine measures carried out by ImerjaMail on behalf of their organisation.

ImerjaMail can additionally enforce polices on the type and size of file attachments permitted on inbound and outbound emails, as well as inserting subscriber specific messages or disclaimers within the email message. It will also accept and store emails in the event that your email system is unavailable to receive messages.
